You’d be vexed, or perhaps in some countries, even dead. Thanks to an innovation known as a crypto-anchor, we could buy with more confidence and take medicines safely in the future. So what’s the magic?
Developed by IBM, crypto-anchors are the world’s smallest computers. Smaller than a grain of salt and containing up to 1 million transistors, crypto-anchors could be invisibly embedded in to physical products to monitor, analyse and communicate that a product has been handled properly throughout its journey from manufacture to consumer, thereby guaranteeing its provenance. All this for less than 10 cents. And what’s more, once embedded, a product would need to be destroyed to rid it of the crypto-anchors.

The format will be a series of Codex Talks. A Codex Talk is a concise presentation, lasting 15 minutes (or less), in which the speaker addresses a challenging question faced by their technology or industry today and ends with a bold prediction for the future.
Codex Talks are engaging, entertaining and elucidating. They give the audience something they can walk away with: valuable insights, actionable information, fresh perspectives, and renewed optimism.
